Honestly, after traveling to every country in Europe in one go over 7 months in 2015, I had enough of castles, forts, palaces, and “old towns.” Every large city in Europe has all of these and it seemed an obligation to see them in each of the cities I passed through. But it doesn’t stop there. They can be found in the countryside as well. While Europe dominates this category, I also found my share of these in many other parts of the world. While I personally got more than my fair share of castles, forts, and palaces I hope you will enjoy seeing some well-known and lesser-known places through the lens of my camera. This book focuses on locations from medieval times onward. Archaeological sites of castles, forts & palaces from earlier times are included in another book in this series called “Ruins of Mankind.”
